The urge to become a fish is always there,
deep in the skin, looking for scales… but I digress. I believe for all of us bodies of water possess a powerful hypnosis. Jung often referred that water represented the unconscious. But it's more than just a metaphor; water symbolizes the numinous quality of the psyche.
We want to dive in to explore, and yet the deep vastness of the sea/psyche can be terrifying at the same time alluring.
And so my love for glass to look like water on the skin starts here on my torch. For now I use the mandrel in my fire to collected melted glass, and using gravity shape this flow of glass into a rain drop shape.
Drops of water collected on the silk thread.
Rain Drop Earings
When I hold these necklaces the weight of them, it sort of reminds me of mediation beads- there’s a grounding there and a small reminder of a memory glimmering to life.
